Saw this on the back on June Vogue. I don't usually flip for "statement sunnies" but I truly yearn for these. They are sold out on Net-a-Porter, but rumor has it they hit Sunglass Hut in July. Counting down the days before I can go try them on. Because at a cool 290, not sure my 9-5 is going to support my spiral indulgence.

Hat Revisited.

Dress: Thrifted. Belt and Shoes: F21. Hat: Punch Boutique
Oh yes, just strolling in the park with my dog. La la la, oh this outfit? No the belt is not overly cinchy! No my feet aren't sweating! No I didn't wear this to lunch and feel like I should have been in one of MK and Ash's tweeny productions. Remember those? Where there is like 8 music montages with the twins doing fun things in highlights and cool zip ups. MK and Ash shopping! MK and Ash shopping with boys! MK and Ash running around foreign streets shopping with boys!
Oh my gosh I miss those movies.
Trying to take Dozer on a walk, er, drag through the park after lunch with my newly returned to the country sister. He is slowly getting accustomed to his leash, which is a spiffy purple suede, thanks Mama. Sometimes I just hold him above my head for fun. Since I bought this hat I have been trying to figure how to wear it without looking too oh hello! I'm wearing a hat! Turns out, there is not a way to wear my butterfly mop discreetly. You just have to recognize there is an alien force on your head and own it.

While I am determined not to be one of those people who freaks out and talks about every poop or burp their child (dog) makes, this thing is really frustrating because every time Dozer swallows his own feces, I inevitably have to chase him around until I pin him down and pry open his unwilling puppy mouth to fish out the shit.
I remember before nabbing him from his family of tricolored Shih Tzus, he had a shit-eating episode while I was bonding with him. I looked up at his current owner, unsure of the dog-eating-own-doo doo etiquitte. She quickly, skillfully grabbed it out of his mouth and was like "Dozer! You bad dog! Awww..haeheh so funny."
I rationalized it that it wasn't really going to happen when I brought him home. Not in my house, I thought smugly to myself. It's different at my house. People just don't go around shitting and eating.
Well, something I have learned now that I am on puppy poop eating duty 24/7. Your precious little angel will do EVERYTHING you thought he wouldn't do in your perfect, doggy ideal of a life you were planning to provide for him. He will pee on your arm, shit in your bathtub, cry at night, chew your freshly laundered panties, and run around like a rabbit on methadone.
He will puke for 5 hours straight then look at you so morsefully while laying on your last clean sheet that you completely forget about the five piles of puppy throw up and call 4 different vets while collecting poop samples so they can test him. Because he might die. And all of a sudden you feel if this little monster breathed his last poopy breath you may just collapse into yourself and never reassemble.
So that is the catch, I guess. It's never like you envisioned, but soon you begin to feel the saitisfaction, love, and intense protective instinct. It empowers you. It gives you another purpose other than contemplating your own shit (Who am I? Ugh, work is hard! I hate my clothes! Omg...relationships.)
Now their is another little guy who is actually imbibing his own shit. So your own self muddling gets tossed to the side. Sorry, but there's no time to work out if you want to travel around Europe instead of work the nine to five or navigate your bicurious tendencies, you are on puppy poop popping prevention. Deal.
:)
Febreeze Me
I know I need to bathe him but the thought of wrestling him to submission makes me sad, and tired. Which is sad and tired of me, considering he weighs 4 pounds and has the upper body strength of a butterfly.

What do you think of this hat? Feels like one of my eyes is bigger than the other. Sigh. I picked it up at Punch, a little vintage boutique next to Arigato Sushi. I got an orange fringe purse there last year and haven't purchased anything since. The lovely lady working mentioned she is hoping hats come back after the royal wedding.

All I could think of was this hat I saw in Newsweek, so I blushed and agreed. Is it me or does it literally appear that two shrimps are boning on her head? I think Princess Beatrice is quite pretty regardless of her suggestive shellfish headdress.
I have no idea how I am going to wear my hat. I guess if B's hat looks like sexy shrimp mine looks like a Gothic butterfly orgy. I nabbed this, er, eclectic piece of head wear in large part because I always adored the vintage swim caps with rubber flowers on them; I thought they were uber glamorous growing up. I just have to brainstorm how to bring this to the street without looking too bee-keepery.
Bee-keepery?
Goodnight. And I am not going to Febreeze Dozer.
